The 16th Industrial Conference on Data Mining was held in New York, USA, July 13-17, 2016. it was organised as a two-day conference with a single track of oral presentations, a poster session and a workshop.

There were a number of interesting applications covered and these include data mining for cloud computing, medicine, social media, education and even weather data. In addition, there were presentations on process mining, visualization and the theoretical aspects of data mining.

The conference presentations were well discussed during the question and answer segment after each presentation and this is an invaluable part of the conference where delegates get timely feedback and views on their respective research areas.

The topics presented were very current and relevant to the scientific community and the broad nature of the topics presented showed the wide reach of data mining in diverse areas and sectors of industry.

The participants themselves come from diverse background and interests and this event provided an excellent platform to meet and network with people of similar interests but with very varying experiences.
